OL Calendar

The on-level calendar is posted ^^^ up there.
Click "Current On-Level Calendar" and it is there.
LMK if you can't find it or have trouble opening it.

K/H Vocab 1&2

For K/H, this is our first chunk of vocabulary: Get your nerd on.
Please note that each unit only has about 12 words, so we take our vocab quizzes over two units at a time. The words are grouped by root word, which will make it easier to study.

Please note that I have posted the quiz/homework calendar. There should be a link ^^^ up there that says "Current K/H Calendar."

Final Exams and Review Materials

Teachers can run exemption reports on Friday, May 23. Exemption cards are due this Friday, May 30. I will sign exemption cards on Thursday, May 29. The exemption report tells me how many absences you have. I will not be ready to sign exemption cards until some time next week; I have to finish grades first. All levels of English II have two hours to complete the exam. Unless you have special paperwork on file, you will not be given extra time.

For On-Level, the final exam will include 60 multiple choice items, including:

  • Vocabulary words - These are the words on the final exam
  • Questions about reading nonfiction, persuasion, the rhetorical triangle, etc. (review paper handed out in class)
  • Reading and multiple choice questions to go with that reading.
For K and H, the final exam will include:

Projects

K/H Classes:

Your project is due on Monday, May 19. Please bring a brief outline of your presentation for me to take notes on while you present. You must print this before you come to class. You may use note cards during your presentation, but please practice your presentation so you don't read to the class from your cards. Feel free to bring any props or objects that you think will help us understand your points. I have had some students ask if costumes are allowed - I guess that's okay, just stay in dress code and don't cover your face. Safety issue.

On-Level Classes:

We will continue to work on your projects next week. We will begin debates on Thursday, May 22.
