Science Fiction Writing Assignment

This assignment is due at the beginning of class on Block Day this week.

Now that you have seen and read multiple examples of Sci-Fi, it’s YOUR turn! Write one of the following:

Your own original Sci-Fi story OR a continuation/ alternate ending to one of the stories from The Illustrated Man

If you choose to write your own story, consider:

• What do we currently know about science?
• What might the future look like based on our understanding of science right now?
• How might technological/scientific advancements cause issues in the future?

If you choose to continue the story or write an alternate ending:

• What story are you writing? ________________________
• Be sure to maintain Bradbury’s characterization and themes.
• Alternate ending or continuation must be logical to the events in the story.
